4 days ago I bought a scopas tang at my lfs. I didn’t notice it when I saw it in the tank at my lfs. The scopas tang is yellow it is currently in my quarantine tank its caudal fin is darker but it looks transparent. Is this rare? And how much do they usually cost ?

Pic? You can't post this, get us all excited and not show that puppy!!!

It probably depends on what you mean by yellow scopas. Z. scopas are really variable in color. They also don't always keep their juvenile colors either. Hybrids of the two species might be worth more, to the right person.

I like pics too ;) Scopas tangs are really underrated.

Ah I see thank you. I will post pics when I get home

Nice, aren’t all of our tanks messy sometimes
I had this really brilliant idea of putting it in the wall 9 years ago. It looks okay, overall, and it contains the noise and mess. But it is nearly impossible to work in the tank, so placing corals is tough and there is always algae that I can't get to.

My next tank will solve the "in the wall" issue, but I need my kids to be slightly older so I can trust them not to mess with it.

My LFS gets ones that have a lot of yellow but it is because they are juvies/young fish.

I’m the wall tanks are cool but I have always wondered about what you just said how do you Maintain them

How small are they in inches ? When I get home I will measure mine

Maybe 2-3 inches? Scopus are highly variable though.. from as bright as a yellow tang to half and half to almost as black as a black tang. Their colors can change with age as well. Even the koi scopus change patterns.

There is also the chance your fish won't change at all or maybe even getter better.

Scopus are pretty :) Where are the pics?
