So I just had to get rid of a nice pice of my live rock, because I noticed it had some Hydriods. The rock had some great yellow sponge growth and I would like to replicate that on another rock.

Does anyone know where to buy yellow sponges rock? clean ones...

Thanks all!

Hi!

I have a very nice yellow sponge in my 75 gallon that just showed up one day and I love it!

I have purchased other sponges from Aquarium Depot. They were very nice pieces (for cheap), that unfortunately
died during a sand storm situation while i was away. :(

You may be able to cut some off this older rock & attach to another rock. I v'e cooked my LR( curing in blacked out barrels) For a year. every thing else was gone but the sponge actually thrived.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Really appreciate it. I might just order some from Aqurium Depot

Let us know how it goes! :)

If mine starts to take over the tank, Ill send you some. lol

If you want some really uncommon and natural looking sponges and tunicates go check out http://www.reeffarmers.com/farmsponge.htm. They sell all sorts of encrusting hitchhikers that really make live rock pop with biodiversity. Not sure if they're still in business but it's worth checking them out
