Anything I have read over the years of reefing . Sponges are supposed to be a sign or maturity and a good thing .
But more recently I have read they are toxic and can stunt growth , induce bleaching in stony corals etc etc .

angelfish are said to eat it but any angelfish I’ve ever had never eats it .

some nudis will too but which ones ?

Looks like yellow Clathrina sponge. Possibly C. clathrus. I have them in my current system as well as several past tanks. I've never had any problems with this variety.

Still bad in terms of using essential elements , crowding , and the ability to produce and release toxins ?

If that variety is bad then my nano reef would've been in trouble long ago. I currently have a large colony of it sharing about 7 gallons of water with softies, lps, sps, and nps. All are doing fine. Tank has been running for over a year with them in it. The tank has several varieties of smaller sponges throughout as well. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

The same rocks I’ve used in a few builds dating back almost 20 years .
There was actually a bottle of stuff I used to dose to help grow sponges lol

ive had these yellow ones for years but every time I read different . I question if they are actually good or not .

moving forward. .
What nudis and angelfish are known to eat it ?

I have had a white sponge similar for over 20 years. NOTHING has eaten it, and I've had Angels and Nudis....it hasn't exploded in growth just a real slow grower....it is just 'there' lol....

Same here. I have never had problems with sponges and I keep them around to contribute to my system’s biodiversity.
