Yellow spot on fin

I have a 4" Foxface that I've had for 2 weeks that has developed a bright yellow spot on the tip of his pectoral fin. It is 3 dimensional. Like a tiny yellow ball stuck to one side of his fin. It's about 2 mil and continues to get larger. The fish is extremely shy, won't eat if I'm near the tank, so I can't include a picture yet. He is eating well. Any ideas? It's as bright a yellow as his body, never seen anything like it....Help

Try placing your cell phone on video, drop a little food and walk away and post video thereafter

I've seen Lymphocystis be yellow like that. What happens is the Lymphocystis virus causes the skin cells to become giant-sized. Depending on the skin layer involved, and the original color of the fish, the resulting viral lesion can take on the color of the fish - in this case yellow.

If it is Lymphocystis, then reduce stress on the fish as much as possible. Feed it the best foods as suggested in the Fish Health Rough Proper Nutrition post
