My yellow tang at a hair the other day and now he's pooping it out it looks like he's struggling a little and getting angry. Hes waving his fins, darting through the tank, and even had a green Chromis pick at it. When the Chromis stoped he followed it leaning for it to pick at it. I saw it last night and it looks like the hair is coming out, looks about 2 inches now. Any idea how to help him? It's worrying me a little.

This is new to me!

i've never seen my tangs eat hair, But I do have a siberian husky and that being said I have seen one of my tangs pooping hair once a few months back. I didn't notice any signs of stress and later it was gone.

If its there for a few hours I would be concerned.

only 3 options i can think of:
1. let it be
2. FEED let him poop some more lol
3. manually remove

I have a long haired cat and do notice hair in the tank occasionally. I've accidentally had hair stuck to the nori clip and seen them eat with no side effects. They should eventually poop it out..

Feed it some ground up peas and it will pass it:)

Okay thanks for all the help. He doesn't show any signs of stress or anything just swimming like crazy.
