Third day of Hotrocks QT process.. yellow tang and whitetail bristletooth tang in 20 long together. Both have been eating like champs. All types of food pellet, frozen and algae sheets. Was going to start raising Cupramine level to therapeutic tomorrow morning and saw this brown spot on both sides of my yellow tang tonight. Any ideas?? I haven’t started feeding medicated food yet because I couldn’t find general cure but I have it in hand now. Thoughts??

More info... I haven’t been keeping any lights on in the QT tank, just closed off shades in room to allow for a little natural lighting during the day. When I took that photo, I had to get some testing stuff out of the room with QT tank and turned rooms lights on to a previous dark room / tank and saw that spot on the yellow tang. After 5-10 mins of watching him, there were no more brown spots at all... normal? Thanks!

That is normal for the night time coloration of a yellow tang IME.

Thanks guys! Sorry for the false alarm! Didn’t think about lights off coloring until after I posted.

Yellow tang passed while I was at work today. 2nd day of slowly raising copper to therapeutic level. He was swimming around and eating like a champ this morning. Bristletooth still seems to be good. Should I do a water a change? It’s only been 4 days.

Yellow tang passed while I was at work today. 2nd day of raising cupramine level slowly AM and PM. He was eating like a champ and swimming around crazy this morning. Bristletooth is still going strong. I should probably match copper level and do a water change now correct even though it’s only been 4-5 days?

You see anything on him that I missed?
