Yellow Tang Dorsal Fin Damage

Howdy!
This is my first time posting and I need some help identifying what is wrong with my yellow tang. I recently noticed that my yellow tang had some damage on his dorsal fin near his head. I believe its a bruise but I'm not sure. The tang started getting aggressive with a copper band that I introduced about a month ago. It would hit the copper band with its tail and the copper band would move sideways to protect its self with its spikes. After a couple of days of minor aggression, they started getting along. Recently I have noticed it tries to scratch the area on the rocks. The tang eats and swims around like normal. I feed him frozen brine, omega one marine pellets, omega one veg and also nori a couple of times a week. I attached some images below so y'all could take a look. I would appreciate any help. Thanks for joining. Sorry it had to start with a fish injury. Can you describe the injury a bit better. Just torn fin, any white cottony like spot, any other noticeable markings? If you could get a clear close up of the fin it may help.

The damage is darker in color has some whiteish stuff coming from it but not a lot. When the lights go out the area looks the same as its belly which is a brownish black color. I also notice some darkness on my copper band. I have not done a freshwater dip.

That looks like an injury to me, but I am far from knowledgeable on disease.

It does just look like an injury. I would keep an eye on it. If it gets larger or starts turning red it may be developing a secondary bacterial infection.

For both yellow tangs and copperbands, highly recommend keeping NFG powder on hand. Those red sores that are some manner of bacterial infections tend to go sideways extremely fast and NFG works really well and quickly. Furan2 works and shares some makeup with NFG. But highly recommend NFG for those beautiful fish.

Thank you for all the help. I recently fed them and the yellow tang ate fine but the copperband has not, yesterday night when I fed them they both ate. Should I be worried about the copperband? It only eats mices shrimp and brine shimp. Ive had him for about a month and this is the first time I don't see him looking for stuff in the rocks. It got a little interested when I fed the aquarim but it just stayed at the bottom.

CBB generally love worms. If you can get them, some blackworms preferred or whiteworms will usually get them going. They also love to peck away at frozen clams in the shell. Get them at the market partially thawed. Open them so one side of the shell is gone or at least open, and then freeze until feeding. Best of luck with your beautiful fish. Getting a CBB to even begin to eat is quite a feat of accomplishment. But the not eating is worrisome.
