I have 3 yellow tangs and one of them I have noticed has lost some weight. All my tangs (yellow, naso, and sailfin) are all thick fish. The biggest of the 3 yellows isn't eating as much and seems to be getting skinny. Other than the weight loss and not eating as ferociously as he use to I see nothing wrong. All the other fish are doing fine also.

Any ideas on what would be causing this?

Have any pictures? Observed white stringy poop? Any signs of aggression from the other tangs?

in the absence of any other symptoms could try to treat constipation, boiled cooled peas contain a lot of fiber and can help pass anything that there. Ime algae eaters readily consume.

I got 3 pics of the "sick" one and 1 pic of a "healthy" one.

I introduced the sailfin about a month ago and there was a lot of agression towards the sailfin by this yellow (the largest) and my naso. I put some mirrors in there for a couple weeks and everyone has fallen into their groove.

To me, there are 3 possibilities for a skinny tang, and they've all been mentioned:

Bullying by one of the other tangs
Not enough feeding
Gut parasites

I would feed a lot, making extra sure the skinny one is getting enough. Two nori stations can help. Also, if you suspect internal parasites, you can feed general cure soaked food to fish in a display.

I do have 2 feeding stations already. One on each side of the tank. I am wondering if the mirror made him feel bullied? He is the most aggressive of the yellows I have and he would attack the mirror constantly. Everyone has been getting along without incident for about a week now. After posting this last night he did seem more aggressive during last nights feeding.

My yellow tang died recently, I noticed in the past week he looked thin but he was the most agressive in my tank and was eating well. I am confused.

How long did you have it? Any other symptoms? Any new additions to the tank?
