A few weeks ago my brother in law gave me a yellow tang that was being picked on in his tank by a larger Hippo Tang....the Tang's nipped fins started to heal except for the top fin. The top fin has actually gotten worse, but doesnt look like its being nipped by other fish. It eats very well and swims all over the tank. My tank inhabitants are....
2 Pajama Cardinals
1 Banggai Cardinal
2 False Perc Clowns
1 Midas Blenny
1 Falco Hawkfish
1 Yellowtail Damsel
I noticed at night it swims really close to my LTA that my clowns host but the clowns dont chase it off and it seemed to be rubbing its tail against it..any help would be appreciated ...thanks

Hi efranco first of all I will add vitamins to the food , its evident a deficiencies of vitamins
Then I will take attention of some bacterias infection monitoring its eyes ,if are velied
Anyway @Humblefish or @melypr1985 could help you
thanks for the info...ive never kept a tang before and have just been feeding mysis and seaweed. I usually feed every other day, do you think i should feed daily? Also which vitamins would you recommend

Best you feed it daily or more since colours are ok
I use lipovit tropic Marine very good product very thick also so prepare a solution of 10 drops in 30 ml of ro water shake and use it on the food before feeding 2 drops of the solution are ok

Hi there! It looks like your tang has the very beginnings of HLLE around the eyes. It's best to start feeding every day and with vitamin enriched foods... added Selcon, Zoecon or Vitachem to the fish's food is a good idea daily.

The dorsal fins are probably mildly infected and that's why they are still being eaten away. Just feeding the vitamins in the food every day might do the trick for this, but it may turn out that it needs antibiotics. Kanaplex can be fed in the food as well (when coupled with Focus to bind it) but is best done in the water in a QT. Minimum 10 days of treatment with more if needed.
