Yellow tang in 58 gallon

Hi, I was very wrong to get a yellow tang in July. Tang now about 4 1/2 inches. Stopped eating algae on clip about 2 weeks ago.
hides behind rocks if sees me.
recently got peppermint shrimp. Would cause problem? Also have royal gramma and oscellaris in fish tank. They are happy and healthy and not afraid of the tang. As soon as my nearby fish shop opens up after covid will trap it and donate it. No ick. Apparently still healthy. Worried for it. Any suggestions to encourage it to eat more? Put garlic extract on Frozen spirolina/brine

The tang stopped eating. We’re you just feeding Nori or other things also.? If you have frozen I would try and feed. If he is hiding I am wondering about aggression. You seeing anything new, abnormal from the clown maybe? I don’t think the peppermint played a role unless he invaded some of the clowns territory and made the clown mad, but that is a wild guess.

Try some frozen meaty first. Shred up the Nori into small flake like food and mix it with the defrosted frozen and see if that works. It can not hurt to also look him over closely for torn fins, blotches or spots, cloudy eyes, etc.

Thanks. I have always used frozen brine with spirolina with added garlic extract. No symptoms of disease on tang. Tang used to always eat from clip with dried seaweed on it. However got new clip because old one fell down. Maybe yellow tang scared of clip falling. He has always been a scaredy-cat. Will try nori and mix that up with frozen shrimp
