I have a 75-gallon aquarium, 30-gallon sump and I was wondering if I can get a yellow tang in there. Has anyone does this before?

75g? Too small!!!!!! Just wait until the Tang Police arrive!

You're probably good though, but I don't think I'd add any other tang besides a yellow

I've had a yellow tang in our 75g for 11 months now. He eats like a pig and is a bit of a bully; it and the coral beauty go at it occasionally. It has grown but by a very small margin and honestly, I have my doubts that it will ever get much bigger in this tank (though I'm sure it would love to have more room to swim as would all of inmates). Not only is it an eating machine, it too, is a pooping machine so be aware of that.

I would purchase very young, and give it away later because I am not going to upgrade. I spent enough on this tank...

75g is the minimum I would consider for a yellow tang. And even then aquascape and tankmates affect the appropriateness of that size tank.

Remember, if any fish's rate of growth is not what it should be, then the growth is stunted ansld something needs to change. Most often it is water quality or other husbandry issues.
