Hi All,
I’ve had my Yellow Tang (YT) for about 2 years now and it’s been relatively healthy. However, about 4 weeks ago, I’ve noticed that it was breathing pretty hard and had a steadily declining appetite. It would eat a few mysis and a few bites of the Nori. It continued wasting away (losing weight) and breathing hard to the point where I can see its bones. And this morning, I’d noticed an abrasion on its gill cover. I’ve performed weekly water changes, my water parameters (which I’ve checked weekly) are near zeroes for nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia, pH is 8.2, salinity is around 1.025, and none of my other fish are experiencing the YT’s issues. The only possible, I mean remotely possible, cause that I can think of is that I added a dual MaxSpect XF330 system to its tank around the same time that it first exhibited these symptoms and somehow, it became stressed-out by the increased water flow? But, as I’ve said, none of my other fish are affected. At this point, things are looking bleak for the YT. Can anyone think of any reason(s) why my YT is in so much distress?
