One of my first fish was a yellow tang. I had a small blue tang about 1” before the yellow tang but the tang didn’t bother the blue tang. I ended up getting another blue tang and it wouldn’t leave the fish alone. Constantly pushing its back fin into the blue tang. Myarge blue tang is super mellow and the yellow tang left him alone. Later down the road I got a sail fin tang and I’ve had him for about 2 months. The yellow tang constantly chases the sailfin. My fish got Ich and I had to move them into a 55 gal QT. Doing so seems to make things worse. I noticed today that my sailfin has a ripped top fin. I’ve tried the mirror thing but it only dostracted the yellow tang for a few days then he gave up and went back to my other fish. My fish have been in a QT for 4 weeks now and only thing they have in there is pvc pipe. While they were in the QT I redid the rockwork so when they get put back into the DT in a few weeks it will throw them off. I was going to add the sailfin first and add the yellow tang last but I feel like that won’t work. I wanna take it to my LFS and see if I can exchange it or get some in store credit but I’m going on vacation soon and don’t want the fish to be in a QT while I’m gone.

Any suggestions on what to do?

I sold mine for the same reasons. Once my Fowler is completed I will add a trio of yellows to it but they will be smaller then all other fish.

Not saying that but at least the bigger fish should be able to stand thier ground. Who knows how it will work out.

Bring the troublemaker back to LFS, get credit, buy new fish after vacation.

Zebrasoma tangs are aggressive - it’s just what they do. You don’t say how large your display is, but crowding will exacerbate aggressiveness. You can certainly try to get the other tangs restablished, then add back the yellow after a few weeks.
