My YT is not eating for almost a week. Wont eat nori, wont eat mysis, wont eat garlic flakes, wont eat brine shrimp, wont eat frozen made for tangs... Nothing

She has been a healthy fish - have had her a year. Only with 2 clown fish and some LPS. Established tank. Have an Red Empress shrimp in there... 2 black clowns, 4 LPS, and an long tentacle anenomie.

No signs of any parasites. I am the King of Quarantine --- nothing goes in my tank until I am sure 400 times it is healthy and safe

Super skinny... The YT was quarantined, treated for ich and treated for parasites when I got her... She never showed any symptoms - treated all my fish in QT the same way

She has be healthy for almost a year. Been totally fine until this week.

She is gonna die... If I dont do something quick. Tried everything to get her to eat. Shes just letting herself waste away.

I QT EVERYTHING. Other fish and corals in the tank are fine. Water parameters are perfect... Use Hannah Checkers. Did an 80% water change anyway... Did not help.

Anyone have any ideas... She just keeps getting worse - and I care about this fish. She is smart and has personality.

I have a YT that stops eating every once in a while for about a week. I mean, a normal healthy yellow who ALWAYS eats just watches it float by. Then, back to normal.

I have no idea why it does this, every 4-7 months, for a week.
Maybe gets his snout to close to the BTA?

Stop eating can be many things, intestinal infection, parasite infection.

But I would want to see some other behavior issues arise before I jump to these. Lathargic, breath labored, twitch, scratch, rub, glassy eyes to name a few.

Now if the fish is in clear distress, I’d remove that fish from the DT, back into QT, so your in position to treat.

Thanks for the input. I am exasperated trying to save her. She is not swimming right... Hasnt eaten for so long her stomach is caved in, can see her ribs, very lethargic, I can reach in the tank and touch her without he swimming away. Shes starting to go sideways
.. Have had fish get his bad before and have always brought them back... Even ones I though were dead.

She is in a QT now.... About to treat with Prazipro, increased temp, and hyposalinty.

Praying she makes it. I put nori up to her mouth - no interest - its like she has just given up.

Will post an update on her condition if she worsens, dies, or gets any better.

I have not lost a single fish... Except for a Snow Clown that I accidentally killed - was totally my fault and an accident

I am so on top of this... And have been successful with fish... Have lost a few corals through the learning curve - but otherwise very successful at this.

Just hoping for a small miracle at this point.

Have you tried garlic to entice feeding? I haven’t experienced this before so I don’t have much to say , but best of luck

She he didnt make it. She just gave up. Wash"t trying to hold on in any way. Didnt act or look sick... But something was wrong to make her not eat for so long. The two clowns are fine... Have them in QT on Prazipro just in case.

RIP Miss Tang
