Yellow tang is getting nipped badly??

Anyone have thoughts on who is biting the tail on my yellow tang ?

Tank inhabitants include
Small long nose hawk
Midas blenny
Watchman goby
Yellow eye like tang
Clownfish
Green chromis (small)
Coral banded shrimp
Pistol shrimp

Zero signs of any aggressive behavior between anyone and no new additions in months

Cole tang possible. The yellow could have a bacterial infection causing this. Can you post a picture?

Clowns or Kole Tang would be my suspects. The people who claim occ clowns are peaceful need to have their heads examined. They are all semi-aggressive/territorial to some degree.

My Female is a Terrorist out for blood.. The second a hand goes into the water.. I flick her away with my finger only to make her more determined to get the intruder into her world.. But she does not bother my Yellow Tang .. The scopes tang and the yellow tang tolerate each other at BEST.

how large is your tank, how much live rock . and so on would help

Sometimes a Rock work reset can slow or stop aggression is this is what it truly is... Moving the Rocks will reset there territory sometimes..I am betting its not aggression between two tangs.. The will usually cut each other on the side .

90 gallon reef.
Tons of live rock, caves and hiding spots.
Going to do a rock work reset . I highly doubt it is the other tang as they seem to get along very well.

Normally if tangs are fighting they are capable to swim together as best friends 10 seconds later.
But it is a very small tank for 2 Tangs. I would say min 6 feet or 150 gallons when they are grownups.
The smaller the tank is the more big fights will it be in it.

My snowflake occ was a jerk (even though he wasn't even 2 inches), he bullied everyone in my tank initially, although my Diamond Watchman Goby and my Wrasse both put it in check as far as they were concerned, but he was a terror to my scissortail and probably contributed to the death of both it and my purple firefish. I figured I would have a little better luck with the snowflake since it was captive bred, but no such luck.

That's too bad. I currently have an occellaris/black occellaris pr that ignore everyone. Like I said, they can vary greatly.

Could be fin rot rather than aggression. Healthy fish grows ripped funs back pretty quickly, so if they're not healing consider a bacterial problem.

Well, the verdict is in. IT IS FIN ROT!
Had the company come today that services my tank.

Poor guy! No idea what is stressing out fish in my tank but something is.
