Hey guys, I have yet another question for you. About 3 or 4 months ago I was forced into putting my display into fallow and qt and treating all of my fish for ich, velvet, and potentially flukes. All fish that survived the ordeal went through copper treatment, two rounds of prazi, and freshwater dip. My blue spotted puffer underwent the same thing except I used CP on him. The fallow period has been complete for over a month now and I have added all my fish back to my display except my yellow tang. Reason being is because he is looking a little thin now and his fins are looking rough around the edges. All the other fish look fantastic now in the display tank and seem to be the healthiest I have ever seen them. I have not seen any white stringy poo or anything from any of the fish including the yellow tang that is still in my qt tank. I feed a mix of lrs reef frenzy, mysis shrimp, nori sheets, rinsed and soaked in selcon every morning then offer some more nori later in the day after work. Never any ammonia in any of my tanks. The yellow tang seems skidish, and barely picks at the food, he seems to nibble at the food but seems to spit it out. I have had him for over two years and he was always very personable and would eat out of my fingers. I am performing a 90% water change tonight to get him some new water. So my question is, could it be that he is just unhappy for being in my qt tank for so long and not being normal? Should I consider adding him to the display tank with the other fish? Just looking for some advice, I dont want to lose him, he was once of my first fish. I have not seen any other signs of him having parasites or diseases. There has not been any meds in the qt tank for over a month now. Also, FYI my qt tank is a 30 gallon, and my display is a 180.

Sorry to hear it's not doing well at the moment. Can you try to take some clear pictures of it so we can see what it looks like. Thanks.

Yeah that was my next step. I just snapped a few. Hope these will help.

If there is no sign of any parasites or disease I would place him in the DT.

Tang's are grazers even though you may feed very well, they pick at the rock and eat algae all day long. In a QT, there's nothing to graze.

OK, that was pretty much what I was thinking too, just looking for some reassurance. lol. The last thing I want is to add a fish back to the display that has something wrong with it.

FYI, I placed my yellow Tang in my display the other day after a freshwater dip with methylene blue. 2 days later he's very active and eating well. I've added focus and metro to all of the fishes diet to just be sure about any stomach parasites. Looking a lot better so far and his fins are getting back to a more normal shape. Now just to fatten him up. Thanks guys!!
