Hello all. I was wondering if I could go through with this plan for a yellow tang. Could I house a baby one in my 20 gallon for a while until he grows a bit. I have an 80 gallon saltwater tank being cycled rn, so once he gets bigger I will move him to that tank. He is my favorite fish so I would like to have him in my 20 gallon reef tank for a while. However, I know that require bigger tanks, which Is why I have the 80 gallon being set up. Would he be okay in the 20 gallon for some time? And if so , how long? If not, I will not get it, I would never want to put a fish in a bad situation. Thanks in advance!

No reason that would a problem temporarily. Should be okay

As already said, you will be fine until the new tank is ready, and I understand your desire to have one their my favourite fish of all.

I have 7 in my system and might even get a few more, there stunning as they shoal around.

i have quarantined all of my tangs in a 20 long ….. usually 8-12 weeks. All have been fine. Beyond a few months may become problematic.
