just arrived in qt tank a hour in my home., this fish arrived yesetday to lfs, and started eating when i asked them to feed it before i brought it . does your tangs gills move that fast too?

Fast breathing can be a symptom of ammonia. Do you have an ammonia alert badge in your quarantine tank? Did you dose anything to help your biological filtration such as bio spira? I'll take a look at bubbles (my yellow tang) and see if hes similar to yours and report back.

i have one but have yet to put one on , i took live rock , from my system which is about 2 months cycled , and just put it in there with air stone and small HOB filter, btw LFS had in copper and 1.015 salinity, i made my qt tank 1.015 too .

i also just put in the ammomia badger mins ago, it seems to state it make take a few days to work ><

Distressed !! Water change, verify salinity ( 1.024-1.026). temp not higher than 79 and Ammonia/nitrate reading.
Also stick finger in water to assure no stray voltage

Please keep in mind that live rock will absorb copper and take you out of therapudic range

Yes I’m aware thanks , just using this rock until the sponge sits in the main tank longer
He seems ok to me. Breathing a little faster than mine, but that may just be due to stress. I'd get that ammonia badge in asap and keep an eye o on him though:)

Agreed - probably stress related. When I introduced two yellow tangs to my tank, they were breathing rapidly and raced up and down one side of the tank. Today, they race to the front of the tank when I enter the room. Not that they love me. Just associate my presence with feedings. LOL.
