Hi all
Maybe nothing but my yellow tang has white marks on his tail fin.
I have added a lipstick tang 4 days ago if anything the yellow tang is showing hes the boss.
I have put the yellow in my sump until i can find out what it is.
I have done a fresh water dip but it did nothing. water change every week and everything in my tanks seems good.
Hard to see in the image

I’m not seeing the white spots except the little prison shank that all tangs keep handy.

Its hard to see but in the first image look at the side of he tail fin you can just make out the white bumps on the fin

I think I do see a little white fuzz on the top portion of his tail fin. Sometimes I get ich that looks like that when they’re really big but they normally go away after a few days

Could it be because i put a lipstick tang in the tank oh and ive just done a 3 day black out so i only noticed it tonight

It’s quite probably lymphocystis caused by new tang stress. Good water quality and diet and it should sort itself out. Soak some nori in Selcon might help build up nutrition.
Ive been giving him seaweed with garlic

If you mean the large white dot there in your photo - thats an oval - thats the 'blade' - It can cut other fish when extended - and a tail flip is initiated - thats why tangs are also known as 'surgeon fish'. otherwise - he is normal.

No not that its hard to see its on the otherside of the fin

NO offense - but - 99% of the pictures I can see here - don't show the tail. Is it possible that you could annotate - with something - what you're wanting everyone to see?

The fish looks healthy otherwise. Looks like some cheato in that pic? I think I only the ‘fine’ strand cheato is palatable, double check this but if memory serves, if he’s picking at it, I would separate them as tangs can have trouble digesting the thick cheato.
