about a month ago I got 2 captive bred yellow tangs. And after about a 2 weeks in the tank they developed some kind of white spots assuming it was ich or velvet I transferred them to a quarantine tank. They have now been in quarantine with 8 other tangs and are the only ones with the white spots, the quarantine contains therapeutic dose of cupramine at 0,5 mg/L. what could the white spots be? I will try to take some pictures tomorrow. the white spots looks like they are raised from the skin and have different size spots on the fins. I don’t believe it to be Lymphocystis Due to the number of spots probably in the 40-80 range. My only suspicion is it is mucus plugs.

It is possibly mucus plugs from prior ich. How long have they been there - do they change location? Even so since these can be due to ich, if you haven't finished your QT yet I would merely continue that.

Please post pics under white light intensity as anything in lieu of will be a wild guess. Do not yet add anymore copper until you confirm what you have.
