I feel like i have the worst luck with fish at times... So I Had this tang for 2 weeks n it stopped eating 2 days ago n now these markings appear. I tested the water n everything seems fine. What are the markings on the tang please? Cuz it looks like i might loose him.

Also i do wc every other day but i keep getting dirt at the bottom of the qt n im not sure y. Can someone also tell me what this is?

this is the dirt tht appears everyday in the tank and i dnt have this problem with my other qt.

What are you treating him with? Do you have any anitbiotics on hand? Or any of these three meds? -kanaplex, furan2, metro?

I agree it looks like a sign of infection, but this tang isn't eating. Merlberg, you can try soaking the nori in garlic and see if the garlic entices him to eat at least a little. If he's not eating then the chances of him beating his on his own seem to be low, and antibiotics will be necessary.

Im not treating with anything.. I was treating with prazipro but then i did a wc. I have something called melafix here can i use that?

These red marks are signs of internal infection
They usually get it from aggression and other tangs attacks
I usually just feed more seaweed soaked in garlic

He was seperated from the other fish tho. I will try to soak the seaweed but he swims right pass it for the pass couple of days.

You can try melafix, but I doubt it will do much in this case. I think that sore needs actual antibiotics to have a chance to help him.
Hey... I'm real sorry. It sure does seem like you have some bad luck lately! :(

Ok Ill run out and get 1 of the antiobiotics u suggested instead. What about tht dirt at the bottom of the tank? Do you have any idea what tht is from?

If your only able to get one, get either the kanaplex or furan 2.... both will have a broad spectrum to them.

I agree with breakthecycle... it just looks like detritus. Tangs are messy and pooping machines.

Ok to both things n thanks again!!

You can soak the seaweed first in water for couple of minutes then rub it on itself to get small pieces of it. Than soak it in garlic and feed. I usually do that to new tangs and they all eat from the first time.
