Yellow Tang Won't Eat

Hi can I ask for opinions please. I have a YT and he doesnt seem to want to eat anything. I see him pecking at rocks but I fear there is little algae for him to eat. I have tried nori,expensive garlic enhanced, veggie pellets and bok choy. Next I will try lettuce. Also with the nori are the packets in the photos ok to use? One has olive oil and the other corn oil...Hope they are ok cause they are 1/4 of the price of the "fish" ones

Lettuce and bok choy don't have enough calories, especially fat and protein, to be worth feeding.
The nori is good to use. I would suggest that the less messed with, the better. Like uncooked/untoasted and less additives.
Have you tried any frozen foods? Mysis is great. Brine is usually taken by healthy fish, but isn't as good. Flakes and pellets are good. If you can get live food, that's good to get started. I haven't seen healthy fish refuse live brine.

Hi thx for the advice. I only suggested bok choy and lettuce as on Youtube thats what people suggest. I will get some brine shrimp eggs today and hatch them out and try them. Getting frozen food here is quite difficult but I will keep searching

If you have an Asian market go there, look for sundried, no additives. My asian market sells them, a lot cheaper than Fish Made stuff.

Also, the tang may not like the clip and eating at that height.

Try some rubber banded to a rock and not much sticking up. This will be similar to how the feed in the wild and what you see when it is pecking at your rocks. Just a piece of rubble set on the sand or rock work is a great way to get them used to nori.
