i got a blue hippo tang and i had a yellow tang my first yellow tang pass cuz of high temp so i got a new yellow tang and i woke up this morning and it was doing circle i check my salt it was at 24 so i did test and everything was at zero idk why i cant keep a yellow tang in my tank

Because you cannot use punctuation.

Blue Hippo could have stressed it out. What size tank do you have? What other fish are in the tank? What inverts? What type of filtration are we talking about? Did you aclimate the YT before introducing it to your tank? Was it eating at the store? Was it eating in your QT? Was it eating after you put it in the new tank? We need more information please.

ok i got a 90 gal i got a sump with skimmer,UV light ,2 filter sock live rock for fish i got blue hippo cleaner wrath 2 clown fish 3 black and white damsels and 1 yellow tail damsel i got a cleaner shrimp 4 turbo snails 60 lb live rock my temp stays at 77

i dint QT the fish the fish store said that they use copper on their tanks and when i got the fish there was like 8 yellow tang in one tank

How long as the tank been running, how did you acclimate the fish, do you have basic water chemistry Ammonia, Nitrates...Is is possible that a another fish bullied the new fish. When you say circle as in swimming or dying?

my tank been up for like 31/2 month i got a drip hose that how they told me to do it at pet store he was swimming in circle it dint look like other fish was messing with it my cleaner shrimp was trying to clean him when i put him in but that all from what i seen and i did test and all was at 0 i just did a water change on sunday like i always do 10%

Could just be acclimation stress nothing more or you got a poor specimen. If your water chemistry is fine, you acclimated the fish properly no obvious disease then there is not much more you can do. People spend a lot of time fretting over the cause when sometimes there is nothing they did or can do to change the outcome. Perhaps consider getting your fish from a different source next time.

i am going to wait a lil before trying again and maybe it was the fish my blue hippo he doing real good in my tank

I would consider NOT getting any more fish. the Blue Hippo tang is pushing it for that tank and if it is already of a decent size takes up a lot of bioload.. If possible I would suggest giving away the hippo and going with a smaller species of tang (Bristletooth family is great). You are going to waste a lot of money to stressed out fish if you keep going about adding fish before adding them in. I think a 90 is pushing it for a yellow tang too for the latter part of their lives. Other things play into factor here too, like what type of skimmer you have running in your sump. It may say on the box its rated for the system but a lot of companies overstate this important detail.

Like I said, If possible.. Give away the hippo and stock either a smaller tang or smaller fish, the Bristletooth tangs are awesome and I recommend them. Do extensive research before you go to the LFS and get an idea of what you want and what could actually work even 5 years from now when the fish is full grown.

Another alternative since you already have in reality 6 damsels (2 clowns, 3 black/whites, 1 yellow blue) I would suggest, once again ridding the Hippo. Not getting any tang and stocking a decent amount more damsels in place. Theyre cheap and add a lot of color, the only issue is if you have more peaceful fish in the tank with them, but since you would have all damsels you wouldnt be forcing any fish to their death, although some damsels may get picked to death its their nature and besides that.. theyre cheap. A sixline wrasse would probably be able to hold their own against the damsels ( I have no experience with them) but they are all pretty much referred to as terrors.

Good luck.

Hippo

Just be careful with Damsels especially the three line ones. These fish are juvenile (beautiful) and they will turn to a ugly brown/black color as an adult. That usually happens to some or most damsels. Do some research also some other saltwater fish do as well (juvenile/adult).

i am going to try get me a bigger fish tank i really wanted a yellow tang and a hippo the damsel i just use them to start the tank and i could not catch them so i just left them in there

If so, keep it the way you are now and don't get any fish, I wouldn't stock for a bigger tank before it is set up. I didn't even do that and I have my current 55 sitting next to my to be 180. And the 180 has live rock from a cycles tank and dry rock yet I'm still waiting. Patience is very very important in this hobby.

If you really plan to upgrade, just wait and put the cash into upgrading to the tank, what size are you looking to upgrade too?

i am going to save for a 250 gal but for now i keep going on my 90 gal and thanks everybody that help me out today

here is the skimmer that is in my sump

Seems like a good skimmer, I've heard of that brand. I understand you wanting to keep the 90 going. Since you want to upgrade I would hold off fish that are more on aggressive side. Because you want to add fish in order of how territorial or aggressive they can be with tank mates added after them. Things can get dicey.

A 250 sounds nice, I'm assuming your talking of the deep display one. I was debating one of those over my 180 but I decided 180 is plenty big for me.

Best of luck.
