I am putting together my fish stock/wish list and I would like a Yellow Tang eventually. I have a 58 gallon and want to be sure it will be big enough.

58 gallon is really to small for a yellow tang, the minimum tank size is around double that at 100 gallons

You are going to get a lot of opinions here lol.
I will start with A 58 gallon will not be large enough to house a full grown yellow tang.

If an definite upgrade was occurring to say a 100g within a year or so. An inch sized juvenile will still be small enough to be content in the 58 while the upgrade occurred. If you cant say for an upgrade is happening for sure i would look more at a dwarf angel than a tang.

I applaud you seeking advice before throwing the fish in. You will see some that throw a yellow tang in a 10-30 gallon tank even though they know it is a terrible idea. Doing the research upfront will make success a lot more obtainable.

I have a yellow tang in my pico .5 gallon and he is doing great! He is almost the size of the tank and still has plenty of swimming room!

J/k. Good job in planning your tank and not throwing fish in like Halal said. You are playing it smart and will find the livestock that you will like for the tank. Plus, now I'm sure you are already thinking about an upgrade in order to house a yellow tang :)
