Yellow tang

Does this look like anything serious to you? Just in the middle of its body I noticed a few raised areas maybe spots that are black or dark around 3 of them. Didn’t notice it yesterday, pretty sure I have ich in the tank is it that?

It’s definitely not ich, ich presents as very small white dots, almost like white chicken pox all over the fish. It is easiest to spot on the fins, especially the tail fin. Hopefully someone else can tell you what it is, but it’s definitely not ich!

Look at the blue tang though? It’s got the same thing but the spots are white

Blue tang does appear to have ick, possibly flukes though it’s hard to tell from these pics

There actually is also "black Ick". It's just not n early as prevalent I don't think. I am not saying your fish has it, but maybe. I can't really make anything out in your pictures.

my tang had that exact same thing. He had it for quite a while. If you are running carbon, if possible slow it down or stop it for a few days to see if it goes away. I run carbon but I use the BRS 0.8 roxs and they claim is high quality. The reason I say that is because tangs can be a tad sensitive to it or could have been just mine

Guys my blue tang is in its worst shape yet I think it’s struggling more alone than it did when with the other fish does that even look like ich anymore?
