As the title says
In a 230 gal dt
I added a smaller sailfin today . First couple hours not going so well .
yellow tang is the biggest bully ever !

will it stop ?

Other tangs are good .

It might stop or it might not. Sailfin might survive or it might not. Keep an eye out for body injuries or excessive cowering. Those mean removal of either the aggressor or the aggressee.

My yellow tang is more than 5 years old and the most peaceful guy in my tank

I recently added a small blue tang. I taped a picture of a yellow tang on the tank for distraction while the blue was in an acclimation box. The yellow flashed it for a few days, and left the blue alone.

Other way around here .
he is the biggest bully

next to the foxface
My flameback is the biggest bully so I took him out for a couple of months then reintroduced him and he was trying to bully my multicolor it my 6inch yellow tang kind of pushed him around so now everyone’s ok

My Coral Beauty hit the Eibli I put in for a few days then suddenly stopped. I also have a Yellow as the dominant, he went at the Eibli a couple times then also stopped. I might rearrange a few rocks to see, cant hurt....

I used an egg crate divider until the YT mellowed a bit.
This was in response to adding a Regal Angel, tang might take longer.

My yellows usually jerks but Simmer down in a day or two

He’s the same with every fish but I’ve never seen it this aggressive
Knowing the shape of the sailfin is similar I was expecting some sort of aggression . But also assumed a larger dt could be ok

Why not try placing a mirror by the glass to hopefully distract the yellow tang. I've never had to do it but I've heard some success stories.
