Ok, I have tried two different ywg’s with zero luck. The first one did great until I rearranged my rockwork and took away a lot of the caves and began swimming at the top of the tank and getting into the weir multiple times and I eventually rehomed him to a friend. So this made me think maybe it was just that one particular goby was angry so last week I bought another much smaller ywg. Wouldn’t you know he did the exact same thing so after finding him in my filter sock tonight I just put him in one of my evos. I am wanting more bottow dwellers and was hoping to be able to find a suitable goby that would work. If the yellows do this, would most likely any of the other watchmans act the same? Looking for suggestions for something fairly peaceful but won’t stir up my sand and cover my corals.

So mine did this too for about a week. I had to fish him out multiple times. Once he found his shrimp buddy he has stuck to his spot like glue.

Do you have a pistol shrimp for pairing?

Can I ask why? My YWG loves caves, and he and the pistol I have never became friends they've been in the same tank for nearly 8 months, one on one side of the tank, the other on the other side.

My pistol kicks up a bunch of sand all over the corals... The YWG never kicks up any sand.

In my other tank, I have a Banded Sleeper Goby, he's far more interesting than my YWG, but, he does take in mouthfuls of sand and then swims around and drops the sand all over the rockwork and corals, so...

I have a pink bar/aurora goby without a pistol shrimp that has done really well in my tank. Mostly just comes out to eat but sometimes perched on the rock above his lair. It’s actually a really pretty fish.

how big is the tank, and what other fish are in the tank? do you have a lot of rockwork? Do you have a pistol shrimp for him?

you say you want "more" bottom dwellers, so you already have some. It may be there's not enough space for more bottom dwellers. My YWG owns about a 12" territory.

It is a 48” 120 gallon. The only real bottom dwellers are a spotted mandarin and a pair of ruby red dragonettes. One of the two caribsea shapes caves houses a fire shrimp and a cucumber. The other is empty. So far after moving him to the evo he is staying on the bottom.
