So I added a yellow watchman goby to my 26g reef tank .. I have a pair of B&W ocellaris clowns. I added the watchman and I thought they didn't mind him but then I saw that he was kinda scared of them and wasn't settling in .. I let it go over night came out and he is still alive but it changed from.yellow to gray with blue dots.. kinda worries me was just wondering if this was normal or maybe I should try and take him back to the store cuz i have two bullies in the tank ..

That’s how my guy is I think as they get older they loose there yellow to them

What's weird is I just took a look at him again and he's alot more yellow now I dunno they r weird

I heard fish change colors when stressed or sleeping search up sleeping fox face

Also when I got my YWG (yellow watchman goby) he was also gray

Yeah I'll look that up I am figuring he goes gray while sleeping cause he is yellow again he is hanging out at the top of the tank I think my clowns have him stressed out. Poor guy.

As they mature males will stay yellowish and females will turn a whitish grey with stripes. It’s possible you bought a female and the stress prematured her color change. How big is it?

I would say about an inch and half
