Yellow Wrasse

I got a yellow wrasse a few weeks ago to help ensure my corals are free of pest. I've seen him out when I home during the day. There are days I leave for work at 9am and get home after 7pm. So I want to know is there a way to coax him out to eat, during time I'm home to ensure he eats? Even when I'm home he seems to hide around 6pm. My normal feeding time are 830am and 8pm, when home I will add extra meal 2pm. ( he eats during this time) Lights are on from 1030am-830pm. There is also a moonlight as well.

If your lights are going down then he thinks it is sunset therefore bedtime.... if your not home during more intense lighting then either change the schedule to be brighter later or add an auto feeder..

I usually only feed my fish once a day and my coris wrasses stay real fat and happy!

+1 ~ and if the lights are ramping down, they’ll go into hiding before the lights are completely off.

+1 to what has been shared so far. I have set my light timer to better meet MY needs. I often leave earlier than my wrasses like to get up too, but I find they can smell the food (I feed a frozen mixture in the morning), and the wrasses emerge shortly after broadcast feeding the tank. Your wrasse is new to the tank. It will likely figure out your feeding schedule and adjust in time. There is also an automatic frozen fish feeder soon to be marketed.
