Woke up this morning to see these little guys going at it. I’ll post a pick showing the ovipositor and will try uploading the video. Hopefully it plays.

wasn’t able to upload the video. I’ll trusting taking snap shots. Due to Angie I’m unable to view the eggs.

Not uncommon for them to spawn in captivity however eggs often get eaten

If you thought damsels were aggressive, watch them with a nest of eggs. My 3 stripes turn into complete terrors in my 90 every 3 weeks when they lay them.

Have had damsels on and off since the 80s. Mine have never been aggressive. Chase those entering their territory but many fish do that. People too.

This guy made sure no one went near the eggs. I saw what appeared to be a spawn and he lost interest in his little hole.
 
I have a pair of lemon damsels that spawn every so often and the male does not let anyone near the eggs. Especially me.
