I will be getting my "new to me" tank this weekend. However it doesn't come with lights.

I have searched here and on Google. Most results are reef specific.

Although, Some corals I have seen are just down right beautiful! I don't think that is an adventure I want to be a part of, At least not now anyways. Maybe 4+ years from now.

I basically want bright LED to make the fish colors "pop" if you will.

Such as the pic below posted by "SunnyX" on the "Full tank shots" part of the forum.

I have a thing for Blue, and the starfish just really jumps out at me.

Call me cheap or whatever, But I don't want to spend $700+ on a Reef light bar for 125gal tank if a 1-200 light will work for a 125gal FOWLR tank.

When I turn on the lights I want the colors of the fish to be like a "Bam! in your face!" type thing.

For FOWLR it's pretty simple. I would just get an LED light bar that has a combo of blue and white. *EDIT* Nevermind, saw the tank size in your post. One of the issues you will run into is that very few of the cheaper light bars allow you to custom tune your color spectrum (ie dial up the blue more, while downplaying other colors). Probably the most cost effective unit that will do that is the Current USA Orbit Marine:

Hey @Jesterrace...

Won't the Reef Breeders Photon V2+ also allow you to custom tune your color spectrum (ie dial up the blue more, while downplaying other colors). I was planning to use these on my FOWLR hoping it would allow me to custom tune the lights.

I ended up getting the cheap aquaneat lights from eBay for under $100. Although I do not have fish yet I am satisfied with the colors.

From time to time my girls will play with the settings it can be a solid red or even a solid green. If they mess with the color combination long enough they can get pink and purple and everything else.
