So........ my tank has been in function 2 months, barely done cycling and I decided to change aquas aping by adding more rocks than it had before. YIKES!!!! Needless to say the tank has gone into cycling again with:
Alk down to 7.5 from 9 in 2 days
Phospates to 0.79 from 1+ in 2 days
Amonia to almost zero from above 0.5 after 2 days
Nitrates to 0.5 from much higher after 2 days
Calcium down to 380
Salinity creeps up to 1.028 after I add RODI water daily and bring it down to 1.025 ( don’t understand the science behind that increase)
Worst part is that my male A grade Davinci Clown fish died today.
other than 5 Gallon water changes on my BioCube 32 What should I be doing?
Thank you for your help.
PS. There was a quick millisecond power surge/outage too today.

Is the tank leaking? Since it is a Biocube, they typically have a cover. I wouldn't think you have much evaporation throughout the day. Did you rinse the rock off or anything prior to adding it?

There is no leak. I keep the feeding door adjar to keep the temp down plus leave the lid open a bit too by sliding a pen under it. Yes the new dry rock was rinsed thoroughly.
