It apparantly I've been finding new creatures almost daily in this tank! Would anyone be able to tell me what this is that I found on my rock and whether or not I should remove it?
Thanks,

As long as they are harmless I don't mind having them in my tank [emoji23] I like the idea of a diverse range of species in my tank, as long as one doesn't eat the other!

You do not want hydroids so if the ID is hydroids you probably want to intervene.

Let me find a pic of the fan.....it will have a stalk that it shrinks into when it it touched or senses water pressure/flow change.
IF its a fan, theyre perfectly fine in your rocks :) theyre filter feeders.

Hydroids can have all sorts of shapes but the ones that look the most like youres are the first stage feeder polyps. They can reproduce prolifically in newer aquariums but tend to die off as it matures. They will be ok as long as theyre not touching corals/clams/ living things:

That makes so much sense!I've been seeing what seems to be 'jellyfish' that stick to my glass then swim away when I put my hand in or near them. What do I do about them?!

Then again... I've just touched the 'colony' with my forceps and they retract almost immediately! I'm confused now as to what to do.

Those just just be pods lol
But I've never had anything other than digitate hydroids so maybe they do act like that?

Did they leave a stalk behind or did they just disappear? Ive never personally seen those hydroids...maybe it is?
