Yet another Zoanthid Hitch hiker. WHATS THIS?

What the heck is this thing? I noticed 3 of them on the pictured rock and this one is about an inch and a half long. I got a little brave and touched it and it's tentacles grabbed on like crazy. I think it wanted to eat me. any ideas?

Their tentacles kinda reminded me of the subjects in BeakerBob's pic.

Is it even a zoanthid?

I have aptasia with stripes just like that. The ones in the link are called glass anemones. My Copperband loves them.

They reminded me of aptasia but they look a lot different. Maybe a sister of sorts.

The ones I have like that grow 2 1/2" across & sting like crazy!

That would be the lovely Aiptasia. Get rid of it before they spread!!! You've probably also noticed that the polyps surrounding it don't open. They're being stung.

Cut it out & sell it on Ebay as a rare, striped anemone!
