I did not know you had to pay freight. Look at the label …

Yes, just did the same over the weekend, cost me $5.15 for snail mail to send my ICP

I always use ATI and it always comes with a prepaid label.

I got a “sample “ ICP analysis test for free at the local show this past weekend and was going to send it off for giggles just to see.
There is no prepaid label in the package and nothing on the website about whether or not shipping is included so guess I gotta buy a label just to send off this “sample”

Now I know not to buy that particular test.

That's how you decide which company to use?

Even if cost were the only consideration (a poor plan IMO), the costs of the actual service vary considerably.

Definitely going to agree with @Randy Holmes-Farley here... I think that particular test is $24, and, with shipping, I think that's still less than ATI and others.

My priorities (in order of importance) are: accuracy, turnaround time, and THEN cost. As such, I usually shell out for the ICP-M$ tests from oceamo, and have been really happy with the results so far. I usually get a 6 day turnaround time, too!

No, but all of the other larger companies (at least who I know & have used) include shipping in the price. Its not like an ICP test is 'cheap' to begin with.

They choose not to include shipping in the price, I choose not to use them, simple in my case. They decide to include shipping in the price then I'll consider them. I prefer to know ALL the cost up front and not have to stand in line or deal with my local post office anymore than I have to.

Edit: I have to add, I don't work bankers hours and I work weekends so getting to a place to have something shipped is a royal pain in my case. I want something prepaid so I can simply drop it in a box (whatever mail carrier it is) at whatever hour I can (usually after 11 p.m. or before 5 a.m.)

OK, but I'd suggest it is more important to assess the quality of the results, the range of different chemicals tested, and the turn around time, as well as the total price and not focus on how that total price is broken down. :)

Its not just about the price, see my edit above. I agree its about the quality also, but as expensive as this hobby is, price and in my case convenience is always a factor @ somepoint.

I believe the tests you buy have pre-paid shipping but the samples given out at shows do not. At least that's what I was told at RAP NY

FYI, the Triton Lab N-DOC test does not include free shipping, but their ICP test does. I found that strange. IMO, they should include the shipping label and wrap it into the cost of the test.
