The other day I was catching more heat from some friends about my "addiction" and was thinking "What makes it an addiction?" So, I thought I'd start a thread to see what others think. So, you know you're a reef addict when.....?

* You carry a new shipping container and heatpacks in your car at all times
* Your homepage is R2R
* You have a generator for your reef tank, no the house
* Your kitchen table is converted into a frag table
* Nutrients are a bad thing

You use the cash back feature at Walmart to pay for your coral with cash. That way when the wife check the bank statement, it looks like you were buying food for the family as opposed to a piece of coral.

That's a great idea... I'm gonna have to start doing that!

You pick up your wife from work and she doesn't even bother to ask about the new stand in the back of the SUV.

The first thing you look at after getting out of bed is the tank.....the cat or other half are second in line....

Hahahaha

You come home from a hard days work and walk passed your wife straight to the tank without saying a word, And don't realize what you just did.

Hahaha! I do that too, except I have a husband! The fish will be swimming in a perfect circle (like the wagon train on Blazing Saddles)in the front corner of the tank waiting on me to get home to feed them. The hubby won't do that...lol

I also have a generator just for the reef tank.

When you go to bed and wake up with corals and fish being the last thing on your mind.
When you are always thinking about what is the next coral to add to the tank.
When your other half notices a new coral in the tank and you try to pull it off by saying you have had it for awhile.

hahaha all 3 are so true!!

When you get up in the middle of the night to go look at the aquarium to see what you might find....Yes I am a bit OCD

When you write in reef threads about your addiction, sharing with other addicts...

When you wake at 6am to spot feed your LPS...

When your nickname is a coral

...when your phone is filled with images of fish and coral, and you whip 'em out as if they were your children!

...when you call, text, or type your friends to tell them what exciting new things your sessile invertebrates have done!

- when you had an RO line run through the wall from the basement to your third-floor bedroom, where the tank is, so you don't have to carry buckets upstairs
