Just curious to see people’s biggest regrets or mistakes they’ve made in the hobby.

Mine is a tie between trusting a cheapy refractometer with bad calibration fluid that was mailed during the summer in AZ, and not planning out my sump for plumbing and controllers as much as I should have.

The former certainly caused me more issues in my tank for 6+ months before I caught it, but the latter just makes me frustrated every time I’m tinkering underneath my tank.

Bought $8 ph sensor for a controller and sensor going out in a week and dumping calcium hydroxide and killing my corals. Bummer

Not being immensely wealthy enough for all the lunacy I'd want to take part in with the hobby. I'm 32, feel like a few years down the line if the green is there I have one or 2 major dream builds in me hopefully.

Trying to keep Acropora and thinking I had any clue on how to keep them long term.
