your choice in protein skimmer

end of getting the swc 300!, found one used, just need pumps for spare just incase these go bad. is it possible to only use one pump instead of both due it being rated for 300+tanks or get one big pump like a Bubble Blaster.

So are there any issues with the swc mesh/pinwheel impellers? I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'm going with swc or the octo cone(sss1000)... guess I'm just concerned that the mesh will break down and I'll have to replace the impeller...

just bought it yesterday, from a guy from CA, it has the dual sicce 2500, the guy swapped out one of these pump for a eheim 6212( i think thats the model #, could be a different #), ofcourse he said that like all sicce pumps, starting it up is the only problem, thinking about shopping for the askoll or the bubble blaster or just finding some sicce 2500's to keep on hand. not sure if i like have two different types of pumps running on it, but it was cheap and i need a good skimmer that will handle a 150 tank and 75sump. 300+ rated skimmer should do fine.

I currently have and have been running for about 3 years the aqua-c ev-120 and love it, ive also heard the reef octopus is a great skimmer.
