We all have something that we have battled and either won the battle but with great cost or we have lost. What’s the one thing you have faced and pray to never face again?
this could be anything from algae, pests, corals, fish to additives.
mine is red turf algae. I am convinced that this stuff is sent from hell, it survived two days in a citric acid bath, removing it from your equipment is harder than removing it from your rock work.

Digitate hydroids ;Rage. Can cause a lot of damage (especially to LPS) and seem to find the most inaccessible locations to hide their 'base'.

In some reef aquariums they tend to die out over time and others (like mine with plenty of tiny crustaceans) , it's a never ending battle as they just keep on popping up.

Valonia. Pain in the butt, grows quick, gets in pumps and small crevices, not as much cleanup crew eats it. Urchins have done great work for me, though.
Yeah, mine does "great work" for me, too...:p

I have successfully got rid of it with vibrant, not sure if you will want to use it after the scandal.

All my tanks have an algae that I believe are Dino's. 2 years now not much improvement. The sump gets floating bubbles. Need to get a high power UV for each but $$$ h2o2/mb7 helps coral seem to not be bothered if I change socks every day or so. Run zero whites on my LEDs

I have two:
Cyano bacteria - I fought it for 2 years just to have it and the other algae I was facing vanish randomly one day after adding a Hector’s Goby!

My other was the beautiful Neon Velvet Damselfish (Paraglyphidodon oxyodon), I’d love another but I cannot stand that aggression. I’d love to have a beautiful 6 inch specimen but wow the aggression I had with my last one was a nightmare. Killed 4-5 new additions (I couldn’t get rid of it either, nobody wanted it and the only other tanks I had back then were freshwater). They’re beautiful under the right lighting, their blue’s get highlighted and the yellow is also brighter.
