What is your favorite coral that you paid less then 25$ on? For me it's this chalice. Have never gotten an ID on it, it's a bright neon green, phone won't get it right.

paid $40 found out its a Tyree Japonica cyphastrea after the fact and worth 10 times what I paid for it

I was given a "German Blue" M. digitata frag In fact my avatar is from its first few weeks in the tank...pic is with flash so the coral looks pretty weird vs normal under 20000k)…still one of the best-looking corals IMO.

Also have to pile-on with a Green Slimer. May also have been a gimme- and a very universally appealing coral. :)

I would say $10 or under is a cheap frag but around here hornets go for $5 pp same with acans........ $25 is an expensive frag

Free is cheap right?! I have acquired a lot of free corals along the way. Helping to break down a tank and move all the livestock from one to another I ended up with 4 acro colonies that would not fit in the new home. Plus it was a thank you for helping them.

Very few of my corals cost more than $5-10. Even all of my rainbow acans were $10, some of which are mini-colonies (what are left, anyway - I lost five colonies and frags of acans last night :( ) and would be worth a large sum if I gave them a stupid name ;)
