Your favorite snail and why

I like Nassarius snails...looks like no one's around, drop food....they pop right out of the sand. And when it comes to breeding...they're out there in front of everyone....they have no shame..

What's your favorite snail to have in your tank and why?

Black Elephant likely! Got one as a hitchhiker on some rock. Awesome to watch

Banded Trochus by far. Works well, rights themselves and mine reproduce like crazy in my tank. May not have to buy any more.

2nd place Turbo. Unfortunately one of mine I've had since the beginning is almost 4" across and is a definite bull dozer.

3rd place Fighting Conch(not in the pool?!) Very entertaining. Mine even rare up to eat algae off of the rocks and glass.

2. Tongan Nassarius (the big ones) - big, fast, clean up all the uneaten food on the sandbed. Stir the sandbed. I love how they all come out from the sand like a zombie hoard.

Banded Trochus is my favorite species but we all know variety is key!

red banded trochus, they have the ability to right themselves when flipped over and they readily breed in tanks

Bought 4 Astraea phoebia at a LFS about 2 years ago. All 4 have survived 2 tank moves, living in a neglected holding tank for months... and they're rock crawling, algae eating machines. Never liked Astraea snails before, but these are great.

Trochus are excellent all around cleaners

I always recommend trochus, nessarius, and cerith for a starter cuc. Then fighting conch if sand needs cleaning, and turbos if you have gha. I really like my cowrie just for looks. I wouldn't qualify it as a great cleaner though.
