I have always been a big fan of BSI but this new tube I purchased has been awful, with almost every frag coming off due to the glue not sticking to the rock and both of the application tips became garbage due to the flue drying completely inside of the tip.

Maybe this was just a bad tube? Has anyone else had this issue? Is there another glue that you are using and are happy with?

I've used BSI with good results. The other I've had good results with is Seachem's reef glue.

Seachem reef glue

BSI changed their formula at one point and reefers really didn't like it.
It's possible you have one of those tubes.
I'm told that they've switched back to the old formula but I've moved on at this point.
Also, they removed the metal pin in the cap, and changed it to plastic.
So now it's clog, clog, clog, clog. Gotta have that metal pin.

Now I'm using the CA glue from Dynasty Corals.
Good glue, good container, yes cap has a metal pin. :)

Didn't know they changed the formula, but this one does have a plastic pin instead of metal. Guess I will have to try out something new.

The 99 cents store super glue gel, I clean them out everytime. Cheap and you don't waste those larger tubes from drying out.

I’ve always found that the department store super glue has about a 1/8 glue in the tube. Kinda frustrating only getting a couple squirts out of one before it’s empty! Lol

I use the EcoTech glue. Never had issues with it except when I use aggronite plugs from ocean wonders. But it’s more the plugs coming apart than the glue.
I store it in the fridge also. Keeps super glues from hardening.

I agree they are not full but they are super cheap and getting a couple frags for 50 cents per tube is enough for me lol. The large tubes often harden before I use it all and waste expensive glue.

I fully understand. I typically use a large tube up pretty quickly.

If you keep in the fridge it will make it last 4x longer.

Gorilla thin, the thick takes too long to bite on to the frag but then when I frag I'm doing 10 to 15 at a time so I might be pushing it a bit?

Not worth the troubles when $1 glue does the job. I actually like the fact that I can get a handful of frags for 50 cents and toss the tube, never have clogged applicators or hardened tubes. Appreciate the information though, never know in the future I might need to use this method. I hate trying to use a needle to do an applicator embolectomy every time I want to make a frag lol.
