Ready for fish & corals? Dry rocks are turning brown. Underneath of brown is a light green color. I been using a turkey baster to clean the brown Off the rocks n sand. Should I just by a clean up crew first? I had my green spotted puffer and a topaz puffer in the tank right now. Fully cycled as of 3 days ago.

I wouldn’t add a clean up crew until there is something to clean up. If there are already two puffers in there let the bacteria cultures catch up before adding more fish

I agree but as far as coral you could possibly add a soft or beginner lps. I wouldn’t add any moderate corals like sps or any difficult lps. Give you tank a chance to mature first.

So far I only have polyps. I had puffers n polyps in a 20 gal they needed a upgrade asap. I received my puffers back, friend sucked at caring for them so I took then back. I'm starting my first reef, i had a fish only few years back. so only beginners for me. I need alot more research before I step into the moderates world.

You'll want your Nitrate and Phosphate at detectable levels. 1-5 and 0.02-0.04 respectively.

I have a feeling that with two puffers you will not habe trouble keeping nitrate and phosphate detectable in time though.

As of now, your alkalinity is very high for your low nutrient levels. It might be worth waiting as you may find some softies may melt in these conditions while others may do fine.
