Your reef isn't complete without...

My wife found this guy while I was working out of town. If I said she didnt like snakes it would be an understatement!

I got one . it`s in the back yard not in the house . Havn`t figured out how to post it from U-Tube . Sailfish in Keystone Point Canal PT.2

That's either a milk snake or a king snake, it's hard to tell in the pic. If the red touches black it's either a milk snake or a king snake that is harmless and eats other snakes, if the red and yellow touch it is a coral snake and extremely deadly but rarely bites people.

It took a lot of convincing, but I talked her into releasing it. She grabbed it with hedge trimmers and some how it managed to sliver away. Although I sont think it belongs in the house I didnt like the idea of her killing it. And your correct it is not poisonous.

I don't think I could talk my wife into letting one go, especially if she had it in some hedge trimmers ready to slice it in half. I agree keep them outside and leave them alone, unless they are poisonous...I can't have my son get but by a poisonous snake and my dog likes to play with snakes.

Look what ran across my door!!!! :) lol

That looks like a bullsnake.

It is a bull snake. It scared my little girl that was sitting by the sliding glass door, haha. I caught it and took it out in the desert and let it go. Im not so nice to the rattle snakes.

I don't know what they are teaching my son at his daycare about reptiles and amphibians but right now he is even scared of lizards and frogs. That bull snake looks to be really big, I imagine it scares your little girl pretty good. They have one at the pet store here in statkville they want over $150 that is about 5 feet long is guess.

I had a corn snake for about ten years which is basically the same thing but red and orange instead of the purplish tan and gold...

The snake at the door is a ball python. Someone's pet. Very docile.

But it would be pretty freaky to find one at your front door trying to get in your house, especially if it isn't yours.

True true. I found a 4 foot black snake crawling down the hallway of my house one summer day. Country living.

I also found a 3 foot red tailed boa crawling away from the road on a bike ride one day. It had a horrible respiratory infection and it appeared someone had put it in a bag in an intersection to be hit. I nursed it back to health for a mere $300 lol.

My daughter found it out there. I had just left the house. The phone call from her was quite interesting. Lol

That pic was a text she sent me after she described the snake. We assume rattlesnake around here when a snake is described like that. I was pretty shocked when I saw the pic.

This is great!!!! I'm impressed with these critters you guys get the honor of having as guests. We have our share of intruders but holy cow!

I'm also fine with our new spider. We have an understanding. I warned him not to bring his friends unless I start to get a flying bug problem. :D

Besides, I have a dog specifically trained to catch bees (which sometimes can get out of hand on a hot day full of bees). My cats are also bug hunting ninjas. Booboo the fluff can spot a fruit fly from 2 rooms away.
