ZachP's 20 gallon build

Everything I looked up said they do fine in a smaller reef as they are very docile. Said they can eat smaller inverts but they have to be pretty tiny to fit in it's mouth but I'm not sure. That's if I can even find one for sale, apparently they aren't very common. So I'm trying to decide between smart ATO and tunze nano. Tunze is cheaper but I've had one burn up on my before so idk. Maybe I will go with the smart ATO, thanks for the info!
Yea, I've never seen one personally I don't think. The fish would probably have to be small enough to fit in its mouth. I would say - if the head fits, the fish fits. Shouldn't be a problem with the size of that particular wasp fish. I also may add that I never really trusted a float switch for the fact it is a moving part and could always choose to seize up and pump all if the ATO water in at once or the opposite. There are many reliable ATOs on the market now though.

So far everything I've looked up from people that actually have experience with them says they are extremely docile and mind their own business on or around the sandbed. I'm starting to really want one, hopefully I can find one for sale. And good point about the float switch. I think I'm crossing the tunze nano off my list since all it has is one floatswitch, seems a little sketchy to me.

Really wishing I had a larger tank right now. One of the lfs around me just posted all their lightning maroon clowns 60% off! Definitely don't want a maroon in my 20 though

So I think the cycle is just about done. Last night at about 5 I dosed ammonia to 2ppm, today ammonia is 0 and nitrite is 0.1. I'll getting some water mixing and heating up tonight so I'm ready for a water change.
I also talked to the lfs today and he said he could probably order me a Redfin waspfish and have it in sometime next week!

I'm looking into lights and I've confused myself a little bit. Can I run radion G4 pros and adjust them from eco smart live WITHOUT a controller?

Well I got something done today at least. Got the wires a little better organized. Doesn't look amazing but it serves its purpose. Everything but the lights because I'll be upgrading those soon

Wow that's better coverage then I'd expected. I was thinking about the primes too. For the cost it seems like the nanobox is a good deal though. I like that it's all controlled from my phone and includes a mount in the price already. I also like that it's all run and assembled by the owner, seems like he has great customer service. I want to do a decent amount of sps so I want to make sure I have good coverage

I was looking at that light too. But was a bit pricey a recall. But yes hear they are great lights and have removable custom fascia to change colors. AI Prime also is controllable thru your phone app no controller needed.

I'm thinking with my scape and wanting sps I will need 2 primes though. That's mainly why I'm leaning towards the nanobox. I can get the duo with mounts for less then the 2 primes

Following!

I'm doing the same tank at the moment and I'm right about where you are. I believe my cycle is done.. going to the LFS on Saturday for a small CUC and maybe a goby/pistol pair!

I love your scape! I'm looking forward to hearing how everything goes with the Redfin waspfish... sounds and looks super cool.

I have the same lights you do and I have been looking into upgrades and I think I have decided to go with the AI Prime HD..
I'll get one now to start and I'll grab another a few months down the line.. that way if I upgrade to something a bit bigger I should
Be able to use those same lights.

I need an ATO badly... which did you decide on?

Good luck on your tank!

Thank you! I havent decided yet on an ATO, keep going back and forth haha. I have a little bit of time to decide on that though, im on a temporary lay off from work until January so I have plenty of time to manually fill it up.

Do you have a build thread for your tank? I'd love to follow along
