Zeolite vs low nutrition

Hello, from my understanding the Zeolite make it possible to achieve a low nutrition system,but they are also other possibility to achieve it. But I listen recently someone from fauna marin that saying that if you get it with another system, you will have low nutrition,but not the same colours as with zeolite, that the zeolite has something special??
What do you think or have experienced?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of adding unknown 'stuff' to my water. More 'snake oil' than science. But that's just my opinion and I really try to run a natural reef.
