Does anyone have experience running the ZEOvit system? I would be really curios to hear and if possible see the results of the sytem, especially after sustained periods of use. I'm not looking to seriosly into it now for my 10 gallon nano but I may consider it when I get my next tank in a few years (after college).

After running a zeovit system on a 200 gal tank for 2 years, I would say, save your money. Unless you like pumping a reactor full of stones daily. Replacing stones every 6 weeks, and buying super expensive additives and dosing daily. The additive are super expensive because of the German exchange rate. My SPS looked great, I had trouble keeping Chalices alive because of super low nutrients. Red Sea has a much better, simple, and cheaper way to maintain low nutrient systems that I currently use.

Wow I never got to hear this part of the story. I saw how expensive the additives are but I figure for a tank 100 gallons or less the bottles would go a long way. Whats the name of the Red Sea products?

I use pohls xtra and amino acids. it works great. but the whole zeovit system is expensive and probably only for the very expereinced

Hi Nanoman,

I ran the zeovit system for over a year. The stones are kind of a pain with shaking them daily and replacing them. It's a tricky set up and you have a small range to keep your alk between 6-8 dkh otherwise things can get bad fast.

That being said, I still use the Zeo Amino Acids, Coral Vitalizer, Potassium Iodide Fluoride (for getting the blue colors to pop). These are excellent to use. I just changed to dosing vodka and microbacter7 to keep my nutrients low instead of using the rocks etc.

Any questions just ask.

Nick

Thanks for all the help guys! Like I said I started this out of pure curiosity, but now I am more or less convinced I wont be running the whole system. I was considering buying their LPS amino acid supplement now to get some added growth for my hammer coral (and likely some acans soon). Thoughts?
