Has anybody ever ran the zeovit system without using a reactor for the zeolites? I don't think I have enough room in my sump for the reactor and my protein skimmer. I was thinking of putting the zeolites in a mesh bag in the sump.

There are many who run hybrid zeovit systems (not fully using the zeo system). For the best answer to your question or see some build threads, I would recommend a quick glance on the zeo forums because it is a very delicate system. http://www.zeovit.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5

I have been for a while now with out reactor. Basically its just like running liquid carbon source with using some of their products (foods etc..) For some reason the Star works well for me, i've used other carbon sources and don't like them. Also dose Bak though i'm not sure if its needed.

Always in the back of my head to run GFO which i have but don't since i'm always testing 0 for both n03 and p04, don't even run activate carbon. Corals are happy , colorful and health too. Some day i may run a reactor who knows.
