Zero wavemakers in 2 foot cube for Euphyllias, what's your thoughts?

As I intend to keep Euphyllias all around in my 2 foot cube tank, I'm contemplating in taking off all of my RW8 Jebao Wavemakers.

Over the past 5 years, I've always used 2x wavemakers but from the looks of it, Euphyllias in general likes it gentle, so gentle that I'm thinking a return flow from the sump is gentle enough.

Has anyone has 2 foot cube and doesn't deploy any wavemakers in it? so purely just return.

I'm slightly worried about the surface agitation and detritus building up much quicker by not having any wavemakers.

I have a mp10 on each side in the rear and it works great with tons of Frogspawn

I have several torches and have found out that some like a mild flow and others like a stronger flow, but they all like some type of flow. They also like a random flow.

I have a mixed reef but all of my euphyllia get a fair amount of flow. Enough to cause significant movement and more than a return alone would provide.

Agree with the others. Have a mixed reef as well but seems they like a little more flow than one would expect especially the torches

+ 1 My hammers, frog spawns and torches seem to do better with mild/strong random flow and I certainly like the look of it as well. I would definitely recommend a controllable wavemaker (e.g. Skimz SS 6) for that size tank.

Maybe try a closed loop system if you want minimal intrusion in the display.

My torch loves the abuse from the flow in my sps tank.
