Hey everybody long time lurker and I need some help with lighting profiles.

I have attached a picture of the lighting control app. Basically it has 4 selections.

A is white
B is blue
C is red
D is green

The only parameters are 0 to 100 %

There are 5 parts to the day as well.

So I have read alot about these light settings but they are always in a more quantified number rather then percent.

Can you guys please help me understand how to apply these numbers to the 5 parts of the day and overall.

Also the tank is new and I haven't even thought as far as what I want to put into it yet. But it will be a form of a reef tank.

Thank you very much. Love the forum.

Im not too certain about this light fixture but it does seem underpowered for keeping most corals except for the lowest light soft corals (for standard sized tanks) , what size tank and fixture are you running and what do you plan to keep in the tank?
But usually with most lights people tend to have the red and green channel at max of 10-15 %, whites usually run at less than 50% (more towards the 20-10% range) and blues can vary even running up at 100%. Hard to say as I have never used that exact light and idk the par levels on it

Thank you for the reply really appreciated ironically enough the brs YouTube channel just came out with the light video I'm running a 240 litre tank which currently has nothing due to cycling I haven't looked at what I want to put in it as I don't want to get too excited and rush the process yeah but I am looking at doing some level of soft corals and fish. I have not yet how strong the lock needs to be for certain corals but from what I understood about the video you will run blue and white between 80 and 100% I mean run red and greens from 0 to 25%.

One thing I don't understand is setting the light intensity over the five sections of the day, where do I just decrease the intensities of the blue and what or do I have to decrease intensities of everything

They may be doing a nonphotosynthetic tank with mostly filter feeders and softies or even fowlr but link the video as well please.
There are many different lighting schedules you can take but usually ramp up, max settings for 4-8 hours, then ramp down.
I like to lean more towards 6-8 for max settings but if there are algae issues a little less light usually helps (not always 100% for all channels just your max you are using)

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
